Insider's Gist.
"The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari is currently on a working visit in the United States until Wednesday July 22nd; I had the opportunity to attend a dinner with him and his entourage last night at the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC.

It was impressive to see a lot of RENEWED interest among foreign investors who are considering the opportunity to invest in Nigeria. From speaking with a few of these potential US & Canadian investors; most of them say that they are attracted to the perceived integrity that President Buhari brings to the table.

The President mentioned that part of the purpose of his trip was for Nigerians in Diaspora and for potential genuine foreign investors. In fact, he used the word 'genuine' several times during the dinner! It was interesting, but not surprising to note that some Nigerian businessmen travelled all the way to come get an easier access to him in Washington DC. He jokingly called-out some of them present at the dinner; saying that he didn’t remember including them as part of his entourage on this trip (That was funny!)

The dinner night went well with lots of networking and meeting new folks. I will continue to hope that more progress is recorded in attracting more foreign investments to Nigeria, not only in oil; but in the more lucrative and neglected sectors such as energy, health, tourism & agriculture; to mention a few."
