Davido on CHOAMVAs: "Waiting For Some Baddo things"
The DStv Ayo Kumapayi caught up with him recently to talk about what the award means to him. For the young man who has taken Africa by storm, the nomination is confirmation that he and his crew are doing something right.
“You know, being nominated for the second time in a row shows that we are doing something. We got nominated for Dami Duro first, dropped a couple of hits, now we are nominated for Gobe and next year we are hoping for a nomination for Skelewu.”
Because the Channel O award is a continental prize, we asked Davido if there is any African act he has on his wish list for a musical collaboration.
“I could collaborate with anyone if I wanted but I’m waiting for perfect timing…it’s funny how God puts things together, you don’t really plan it, it just happens.”
Win or lose we wanted to find out from the Gobe master what the future holds. “Expect something crazy again…that’s it! Trust me.”
