Job description
We are looking to hire a National Technology Leader - Principal who will be responsible for providing strategic focus as well as an operation execution orientation that will enable our firm to achieve its business objectives. As a member of the McGladrey management team, the National Technology Leader will work closely with decision makers to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for the organization.
This position oversees all the technology related activities of the firm, including leading IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation , deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the enterprise. The position requires an ability to evangelize the firms' vision, align IT objectives, and programs to enterprise objectives and strategies.
Overview of Leadership Role:
Providing the vision, standards for quality and operational excellence in technology, the National Technology Leader will collaborate with a variety of constituencies to ensure alignment of technology efforts and to obtain a deep understanding of the needs of the organization.
The position requires extensive experience in successfully keeping current on emerging technology trends, issues and cost benchmarking. Advise, counsel, and educate leaders on IT system competitive and financial positioning. Oversee and implement technology initiatives across the organization managing the entire spectrum of information technology operations and strategy. Establish IT departmental goals, objectives, operating procedures and performance measures in addition to, people/team management skills, collegiate behavior, and the capability to make complex, high-level management judgments and decisions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads overall integrated technology strategy design and implementation through collaboration.
- The National Technology Leader will meet on a frequent basis with all levels of executive management across the firm facilitating overall technology reporting process.
- Identifies, interprets and capitalizes on technology trends.
- Seeks to determine best practices for the delivery of efficient, cost effective technology processes and programs, balancing the need for a pragmatic approach to execution and delivery with the need to deliver services to a consistently high standard. Apply business process improvement methodologies to continuously improve IT operations and service delivery.
- Manages national technology budget and advises on best spending practices. Develop, track, and control the information technology annual operating and capital budgets. Identifies opportunities to drive cost optimization and efficiency through the appropriate measurement of return on investment of technology spend, and through effective utilization of talent, infrastructure and financial resources.
- Direct development and execution of a firm-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
- Oversee system security and information risk management and ensure the adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Manages and maintains successful vendor relations across various platforms, oversee implementation of various IT services provides by the information systems department and third parties.
Experience required:
- Minimum 20 years of technology experience, 8 of which in progressive roles at the senior management level.
- Experience in: strategic planning and execution within professional services is a plus, but other industry experience a benefit as well.
- Must exhibit an exceptional client service attitude, possess outstanding people skills and take a proactive approach in working with employees.
- Ability to motivate, motivationally and deliver tough messages.
- Deliver implementation of information technology integrations.
- Demonstrated skills in contracting, negotiating, and change management.
- Successful experience in IT infrastructure planning and development. Demonstrated excellent coordination, organizational planning and analytical skills.
- Ability to develop, manage shared services.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others in a virtual environment to achieve desired outcomes.

Education:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field or equivalent experience.
- A Masters degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, and Engineering, Information Systems or related field is highly desired.
Technical Skills:
- Ability to collect, synthesize and manage information technology systems and software and the ability to manage the entire spectrum of information technology operations.
- Effective verbal, written communications skills and presentation skills.
