Lateat News: Hume Highway Crash As Semi Horses Transporting Burnt To Ashes.
Hume Highway remains closed in both directions after a semi-trailer carrying 15 horses caught on fire in the NSW Southern Tablelands.
The emergency services were called to the scene north of Yass about 3.20am where the vehicle was on fire.
NSW Rural Fire Service said the fire has since been extinguished.
The Police Department believe all but one of the horses will survive, with one sustaining serious burns.
However, The driver of the vehicle suffered smoke inhalation.
The horses has being transferred to another vehicle and the NSW Department of Primary Industries was notified of the scene.
