R.I.P Dede One Day.

Following the death of Nollywood comic actor, Dede One Day, fellow actor and musician, Tony One Week, who said he is yet to come to terms with it, has recalled how they both had a promising career, as he mourned.

DAILY POST recalls that the talented comic merchant died of high blood pressure in the early hours of Monday after performing at an event on Sunday.

One Day, who anchored a program for One Mr. Charles Esonu on Sunday in Aba, had reportedly gone to Ugwunagbo for another event he was paid to anchor as Master of ceremony, but he couldn’t conclude that event as he fell sick and was rushed to hospital over BP related issue and he died late in the night.

Tony One Week, who said the news shocked him, pondered on how he and the deceased actor had discussed about having a promising career while they worked together, as he spoke with newsmen on Tuesday.

He said, “Got the sad news of your demise from Steve Ajebo Eboh yesterday. When I cast you in my movie Oke Ochicho, we both agreed that it was the stepping stone to bigger roles and so it was. Your career in movie had begun.

“Why die now? They said you slumped while doing your business of making people laugh. And I ask ‘why would an instrument of joy be rewarded with sadness?’ You were hypertensive they said, but I am like ‘is laughter no longer the cure for high BP?’ Chai!” Tony exclaimed.

“You also excelled so very well in stand-up comedy in your peculiar Aba (York) style. Your unique voice separated you from other comedians, some of whom even started copying you.
