TODAY IN HISTORY
* On this day in 2002, over 100 people were killed in Kaduna during riots by Muslim youths opposed to the Miss World beauty pageant which was to hold in Abuja on December 7. The fighting began after a newspaper article suggested that if alive, Prophet Mohammed would have chosen a wife from the Miss World contestants. The organisers cancelled the show but later held it in London.
