Young Music Star Destiny Boy Dies at 22, Reports Say
A Young and Popular Fuji-Pop singer Afeez Adeshina, popularly known as Destiny Boy, is reported to have died at the age of 22.
The news gained widespread attention on Sunday after a video showing the singer’s motionless body circulated on social media platforms. As of the time this report was compiled, neither his family nor his management had released an official statement confirming the incident. However, unverified reports indicate that his remains were being conveyed to Abeokuta, Ogun State, for burial.
Destiny Boy rose to prominence in 2019 after his Fuji-style rendition of Davido’s hit song “If” went viral, earning him national recognition. In November 2024, the young artist had also announced the arrival of his first child via his Instagram page.
Since news of his alleged passing surfaced online, fans and followers have continued to express grief and disbelief across social media.
A fellow artiste, Bolisco, who is associated with controversial singer Portable, claimed that Destiny Boy had been battling illness prior to his death. According to him, the singer reportedly suffered severe complications, including vomiting blood, before he passed away.
Multiple videos shared on X showed the late singer lying lifeless inside a vehicle, with cotton wool placed in his nostrils. Another clip circulating online captured the moment his body was said to have arrived at his family home in Ayetoro, Ogun State.
