Breaking News: President Donald Trump is Scheduled to Read Scripture on Tuesday, April 21

President Donald Trump is scheduled to read Scripture on Tuesday, April 21, during the 6 p.m. ET hour, as part of the weeklong “America Reads The Bible” initiative marking 250 years of the Bible in America. The passage chosen for him is 2 Chronicles 7:11–22, delivered via video message from the Oval Office. Organizers from Christians Engaged, led by Bunni Pounds, confirmed the President was specifically selected for this passage, followed by Dr. Ben and Candy Carson.

For American Christians, this moment carries real weight. A sitting President, standing in the most powerful room on earth, opening the Bible and reading aloud the covenant verse that evangelicals have prayed over this nation for generations. Whether or not you agree with the man, the words themselves do not belong to him.

The passage contains what many consider the most quoted promise in American church history. Spoken by God to Solomon after the dedication of the temple, it lays out a conditional covenant between a nation and its Creator. Humility. Prayer. Repentance. Then healing. It is the verse Anne Graham Lotz pointed to in 2016. It is the verse revival preachers have carried into stadiums for 50 years. And on Tuesday night, it will be read from the seat of American power.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” — 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Scripture outlives every administration. The promise is not to a President. It is to a people. And the condition has never changed: humility first, healing second.

What part of 2 Chronicles 7:14 speaks loudest to you right now?
